Forklifts, mills, mixers and packaging machines priced from a quote fit equipment financing; raw material and payroll while customers take weeks to pay fit working capital or a line of credit. Buying the plant building or changing its power and structure is property work, outside this site.

Equipment financing and working capital
Business Loans for Manufacturing Companies With Plants in Middlesex County, NJ
Middlesex County, NJ counted 654 manufacturing establishments in the 2023 County Business Patterns. For a plant of any size, two kinds of money come up: money for the machines on the floor, and money to keep material and wages moving while finished goods wait to be paid for.
A forklift is a good first example. It has a dealer quote, a serial number and a working life of many years, so equipment financing fits it.
| Line | Example |
|---|---|
| Forklift | $31,750 |
| Battery charger | $2,850 |
| Amount financed | $34,600 |
| Rate (annual %) | 9.25% |
| Term | 60 months |
| Monthly payment | $722.44 |
| Payments over five years | $43,346.40 |
At $722.44 a month over 60 months, the made-up terms in that table put $8,746.40 of interest in the $43,346.40 total. Actual terms come only from a funding partner.
Food, Packaging and Parts Makers: Which Product Page Fits Each Purchase
Food, packaging and parts makers buy different machines, but each purchase lands on one of two product pages:
- A food plant: mixers, ovens, filling and sealing machines, a blast freezer and food-grade conveyors go to equipment financing
- A packaging maker: case erectors, shrink wrappers, labelers and a pallet wrapper go to equipment financing
- A machine shop: a CNC mill or lathe, a press brake and a tooling package go to equipment financing
- Flour, film, bar stock and other raw material go to working capital or a line of credit
- Wages for an added shift go to working capital, sized to the weeks before the new orders are paid
A plant adding a line can keep the machine and its first material buy apart: the machine on an equipment agreement that runs for years, the material on a draw that is paid down in weeks. Each is then sized to its own working life. The working capital page explains the second group in more detail.
Raw Material Buys on a Credit Line While Distributors Pay
Long receivables are the gap between paying for inputs and getting paid for output. A plant buys resin, flour or steel, pays its operators every week or two, ships the finished goods, and then waits on the customer's terms. The longer those terms, the more of the plant's cash sits in invoices instead of the bank account.
A distributor that buys on net 60 can still be paying for last month's shipment while the plant buys material for the next one. A line of credit can be drawn for the material and paid down when the distributor's payment lands.
Illustration only, invented figures: a plant ships a $96,000 order on net 60 and draws $38,000 on a line at an annual rate of 13.5% to buy the material for the next run. If the draw is paid back after two months, simple monthly interest comes to $855.00. A real line's rate and limit depend on the partner's review.
Plant Equipment Loans and What a Partner Can Ask About the Machine
Partners reviewing a machine request can look at the machine as well as the company. Points a plant can have ready:
- The quote, with make, model and whether the machine is new, used or rebuilt
- For a used machine, its age, hours and any inspection report
- Rigging, delivery and setup costs, listed on the quote
- The purchase orders or contracts the machine is bought to fill
- Recent bank statements and the last business tax return
A new power drop, a reinforced slab or a crane rail is work on the building, and this site does not arrange it.
